PLAYERS TO WATCH

–QB Kellen Mond, in a quiet but efficient performance, tossed for 192 yards and two touchdowns on 11-of-20 passing against UAB while also rushing for 38 yards on six carries. The 192 yards marked a season-low for the quarterback, but Mond’s ability to keep the ball safe through the air while Trayveon Williams carried the load proved vital.

–RB Trayveon Williams ran for more than 100 yards last week for the third straight game as he amassed 167 on 20 carries with two touchdowns against UAB. Williams has 1,326 yards rushing this year, the most in the SEC and averages 6.1 yards per carry.

–DB Larry Pryor, in undoubtedly his best statistical outing of the season, tallied eight solo tackles against UAB. His previous season high for tackles was seven, with only five solos. But that effort came just a week earlier against Ole Miss. Pryor is playing his best ball in November and proving to be a vital reinforcement for Texas A&M’s defense.

–DB Donovan Wilson had perhaps his most complete outing of the season last week. The senior had five solo tackles — the second-most this season for Wilson — and also registered his second interception against UAB. Wilson’s season has been hampered by two ejections for targeting, but it appears he’s returning to form.

SERIES HISTORY: LSU leads the series against Texas A&M 33-20-3. The Tigers have won seven straight games in the series, with Texas A&M’s last win coming in 1995 prior to its arrival to the SEC.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “It was a place we had great success, won a lot of games, won a national championship (in 2003) and won some SEC titles. It was fun, and we coached a lot of great players.” — Jimbo Fisher, on his tenure under Nick Saban at LSU, which lasted from 2000-04.
