PLAYERS TO WATCH
–QB Kyle Shurmur ranks sixth in the Southeastern Conference in passing yards per game (249.3). He’s hit 59 of 92 throws for 754 yards and five touchdowns against one interception.
–WR Kalija Lipscomb leads the SEC in receptions per game (8.3) and ranks seventh in receiving yards per game (78.0).
–OLB Charles Wright is still looking for his first sack after getting nine last season. Wright, who faces constant double teams, has six solo stops, three assists, one hurry and a forced fumble.
–CB Donovan Sheffield, a senior whose three starts all come this year, has had a good season. Sheffield has both covered and tackled well. His 11 total tackles rank fifth on the team and he leads the team with three pass break-ups.
SERIES HISTORY: South Carolina leads 23-4 and has won 16 of the last 18. VU’s last win in the series came in 2008 in Nashville.
