COACH: Dennis Franchione — At Texas State: 18-15, 3 years;

OVERALL: 193-107-2, 26 years

OFFENSIVE COORDINATORS: Jeff Conway, Mike Schultz

DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR: Craig Naivar

LAST LEAGUE TITLE: 2008, Southland

LAST BOWL: None

RETURNING STARTERS: 14; 6 offense, 7 defense, kicker

PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Shaun Rutherford, QB Tyler Arndt, RB Marcus Curry, RB Terrence Franks, TE/DE Chase Harper, LB Joplo Bartu, CB Darryl Morris, FS Xavier Daniels

PRIMARY STRENGTHS: Texas State bases its offense around Curry and Franks, but will get Harper and WR Isaiah Battle involved as well. Morris and Mager compare favorably to the best cornerback duos in the WAC.

POTENTIAL PROBLEMS: The Bobcats got a bit predictable on offense in 2011 and were forced into a lot of third-and-long situations. Texas State needs to get better at stopping the run (4.5 yards per carry) and must get pressure on the quarterback … but there are no easy personnel answers.
