The Cleveland Browns have agreed to a trade with the New York Giants to acquire Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The deal, confirmed by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, will involve the Browns sending a first-round pick (No. 17 overall) and third-round pick (No. 95), along with safety Jabril Peppers, in this year’s NFL Draft to the Giants in exchange for Beckham.
The acquisition of Beckham is a big one for the Browns in a number of ways. Not only does it reunite OBJ with former LSU teammate Jarvis Landry, one of the NFL’s best wideouts, but it also gives up-and-coming star quarterback Baker Mayfield one of the biggest big-play threats in pro football to throw to.
