The Chicago Cubs have agreed to terms with free agent outfielder Jason Heyward, according to multiple reports Friday.

Terms of the contract were not immediately known, but the 26-year-old free agent was said to have a $200 million offer on the table for at least seven or eight years, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

The St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals were also in the hunt to land Heyward, who played one season in St. Louis in 2015 after five years in Atlanta.

Heyward is a Gold Glove defensive player with the ability to play any spot in the outfield. He was used in the top seven spots in the batting order with the Braves, who dealt Heyward last offseason to the Cardinals.

Heyward hit .293 with 13 home runs and 60 RBIs in 154 games for the Cardinals last season. He is a career .268 hitter.
