Carlos Correa, SS, Houston Astros

2018: Injuries wreaked havoc on Correa. What started as an apparent oblique issue turned into back problems in June, sent him to the disabled list for more than a month and appeared to hamper him the rest of the year. His exit velocity tanked and his soft-contact rate spiked in a miserable second half (.180-2-16).

Forecast: A lot of fantasy ships went down with Correa last year. Maybe more than any other player, he’s someone you need to monitor in spring training. He’s been injured in two consecutive seasons (a thumb injury cost him six weeks in 2017) but still has lots of plausible upside going into his age-24 season. It will likely cost a second-round pick to acquire him; you’ll be rewarded if he slips to the third.

2019 Projections: .276 avg., 32 doubles, three triples, 24 home runs, 85 RBIs, 75 runs, four stolen bases.
