Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, who is dealing with turf toe, will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s road game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Jones was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report and did not practice all week.
Jones participated in walkthroughs and jogged through some light drills without a helmet at the start of Friday’s practice, according to ESPN.com.
Falcons coach Dan Quinn anticipates Jones will play Sunday.
“We’ll do some stuff at the walkthrough (Saturday), and then Sunday we’ll go out and let him run some full-speed routes, go through the process,” Quinn told reporters following Friday’s practice. “It’s not the catching. Just want to see the full-speed routes. That’s what the plan is. His intent is to go and play. We’re anticipating that, but we’ll see where it goes on Sunday morning.”
Jones sustained the injury in the waning moments of last Sunday’s 29-28 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The setback dropped the Falcons (7-5) into a first-place tie in the NFC South with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 27-year-old Jones has not missed a game this season despite dealing with ankle, calf, knee and shoulder injuries. He leads the NFL with 1,253 receiving yards on 72 catches, and has five touchdowns.
Left tackle Jake Matthews (knee sprain) and No. 2 receiver Mohamed Sanu (groin) also were injured in last week’s game. Matthews returned to practice Friday.
The Falcons also promoted wide receiver Nick Williams from the practice squad Friday, a move related to Sanu’s status.
Williams was originally signed as a college free agent by the Washington Redskins following the 2013 NFL Draft out of Connecticut. He has spent the entire season on the Falcons’ practice squad.
