The Buffalo Bills placed cornerback Stephon Gilmore on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday due to a torn labrum in his shoulder.

Gilmore sustained a shoulder injury in the Week 13 win over the Houston Texans while trying to make a tackle. He was ruled for last Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Gilmore will have surgery to repair the torn labrum. He finished the season with 36 tackles, a team-leading three interceptions and 18 pass breakups in 12 games.

The Bills also signed defensive end defensive end Max Valles off the Oakland Raiders’ practice squad.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Valles originally entered the NFL as a sixth round pick of the Raiders in the 2015 NFL Draft. Valles played two seasons at Virginia, seeing action in 22 games with 16 starts, with 78 tackles and 13 sacks.
