The Cincinnati Bengals are awaiting word on the results of tests performed on star wideout A.J. Green’s right foot/toe injury, according to a published report Sunday.

Per NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Green went for additional tests this week and Dr. Robert Anderson, a leading foot specialist in Green Bay, is expected to provide clarity on the seven-time Pro Bowl selection’s status.

Rapoport reported that while the notion of surgery is one possible outcome, no treatment options are being ruled out at this time.

Green was seen wearing a protective walking boot on his right foot at the Bengals practice facility on Tuesday. The Cincinnati Enquirer said he was not “out of the woods” because there was swelling in the foot after he was injured late in Sunday’s 37-34 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 30-year-old Green played 62 of 66 snaps against the Buccaneers and made five catches for 76 yards and a touchdown for the Bengals (5-3), who return to action versus the high-powered New Orleans Saints on Nov. 11.

With the score tied at 34 in the final minute against Tampa Bay, quarterback Andy Dalton led the Bengals down the field to set up Randy Bullock’s game-winning 44-yard field goal. Dalton hit Green twice on the game-winning drive, including an 11-yard pass play that put Cincinnati in position for the winning kick.

While the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Green leads the team in receiving yards (687) and touchdowns (six), fellow wideout Tyler Boyd has a club-best 49 receptions to go along with 620 yards and five scores. Running back Joe Mixon is third on the team with 19 catches.

Green has eclipsed 100 yards receiving in a franchise-best 32 games in his career. He has 601 receptions for 8,900 yards and 63 touchdowns in 110 contests since the Bengals selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
