Wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, who sent offensive lineman Dennis Kelly to the Tennessee Titans in return.
Green-Beckham was the 40th pick in the 2015 draft and averaged a team-leading 17.2 yards per reception (fourth in the NFL) last season with 32 receptions for 549 yards and four touchdowns.
His attitude and focus were issues in college — with stops at Missouri and one season on the scout team at Oklahoma — and again in the offseason with the Titans. At 6-5, 237, Green-Beckham is immensely gifted but was the eighth receiver drafted in 2015 because he came with off-field baggage.
After the preseason opener for the Titans, head coach Mike Mularkey focused on “inconsistent” results from Green-Beckham.
If the Eagles can keep him focused, Green-Beckham could be a major threat.
Kelly, 26, is a Purdue product drafted by the Eagles in the fifth round in 2012. He has 15 career starts and can play guard or tackle.
The Titans are pleased with their wide receiver corps, using rookie Tajae Sharpe and offseason acquisition Rishard Matthews ahead of Green-Beckham with the first-team offense.
