Denver Broncos running back Devontae Booker is expected to miss six weeks with a wrist injury and will be placed on the team’s physically unable to perform list, multiple outlets reported.

Booker will be re-assessed prior to the team’s regular-season opener.

The 25-year-old supplanted C.J. Anderson as the team’s starter last season after the latter went to injured reserve prior to Halloween. Booker finished with a team-best 612 yards rushing and added 265 yards receiving with five total touchdowns during his rookie season.

Anderson heads the backfield which also consists of former Pro Bowl selection Jamaal Charles, who signed a one-year deal with the team in free agency. The 30-year-old Charles has missed the majority of the past two seasons due to knee injuries.

Denver used a sixth-round draft pick on the speedy De’Angelo Henderson. It also has Bernard Pierce and Juwan Thompson in its backfield stable as well.
