Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill sustained an apparent left leg injury during Thursday’s practice.

Tannehill was scrambling toward the sideline and went down without contact, according to multiple reports. Trainers were examining his brace-covered left knee before taking the 29-year-old inside for further evaluation.

Tannehill sustained a sprained ACL and MCL in the same knee last season, but did not require surgery. He missed the Dolphins’ last three regular-season games and their playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The eighth overall pick of the 2012 draft, Tannehill completed 67.1 percent of his passes, throwing for 2,995 yards, 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions with a career-best 93.5 passer rating in 13 games.

Backup Matt Moore, who took over first-team reps on Thursday, posted a 2-2 mark last season in place of Tannehill.
