First baseman Freddie Freeman could follow star shortstop Andrelton Simmons out the door in Atlanta.

The Braves held trade talks with multiple teams centered around Freeman, 26, according to FOX Sports and MLB.com.

Freeman played 118 games last season and hit .276 with 18 homers and 66 RBIs despite being limited by a wrist injury. He is signed through 2021 with $118.5 million left on his current deal.

Simmons, a Gold Glove defender, was shipped to the Angels for shortstop Erick Aybar and pitching prospects Chris Ellis and Sean Newcomb last week.

Atlanta began unloading players perceived as building blocks last season, shipping outfielder Justin Upton and closer Craig Kimbrel to the San Diego Padres. Ace right-hander Julio Teheran and outfielders Nick Markakis and Cameron Maybin are also available at the right price, per the MLB.com report.

Freeman is a career .285 hitter with a .366 on-base percentage. He played 162 games in 2014, batting. 288 and career-high 65 extra-base hits.
