Scooter Gennett, 2B, Cincinnati Reds
2018: The former Brewers handyman has found new life with the Reds, and 2018 was easily his best season to date. His .310 batting average ranked fourth in the majors while he continued to flex power (23 homers) and further entrench himself in the middle of the lineup. He ranked among the top six at his position in every counting category except stolen bases.
Forecast: Holding steady. Gennett is a .289 hitter through more than 2,700 MLB plate appearances. He got a little lucky with a .358 BABIP last year and won’t hit .310 again, but he should be well above average with a stick in his hands. Our projections: .291-80-21-83-3.
2019 Projections: .291 avg., 28 doubles, two triples, 21 home runs, 83 RBIs, 80 runs, three stolen bases
