The Chicago White Sox acquired All-Star third baseman Todd Frazier from the Cincinnati Reds as part of a three-team, seven-player trade that involved the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The White Sox sent second baseman Micah Johnson, right-handed pitcher Frankie Montas and outfielder Trayce Thompson to the Dodgers, while the Reds received infielders Brandon Dixon and Jose Peraza and outfielder Scott Schebler from the Dodgers.

Frazier, 29, batted .255 with 35 home runs and 89 RBIs with Cincinnati in 2015.

“Todd is one of the finer all around third basemen in the league. He is a high-character, smart baseball player who will provide an impact bat in the middle of our order,” White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said in a statement. “He solidifies us defensively at third base and provides a great presence in our lineup and in the clubhouse.”

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Frazier was one of four players in the major leagues last season to record at least 40 doubles and 35 home runs. He made his second straight All-Star team and first start after collecting 52 extra-base hits before the break. Frazier also won the Home Run Derby in his home park while serving as the Reds’ All-Star Game ambassador.

Frazier is a career .257 hitter with 108 home runs and 324 RBIs over five major league seasons, all with the Reds.

Johnson, 24, hit .230 with four RBIs in 36 games over two stints with the White Sox in 2015. He also appeared in 78 games with Triple-A Charlotte, batting .315 with eight home runs and 36 RBIs.

Montas, 22, appeared in seven games (two starts) with the White Sox in 2015, going 0-2 with a 4.80 ERA over 15 innings, with 20 strikeouts. He also went 5-5 with a 2.97 ERA over 112 innings, with 108 strikeouts, in 23 starts with Double-A Birmingham.

Thompson, 24, batted .295 with five home runs and 16 RBIs in 44 games with the White Sox last season. He also appeared in 104 games with Charlotte, hitting .260 with 13 home runs and 39 RBIs. Thompson is the brother of Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson.

Dixon, 23, had 128 appearances last season for Class A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Tulsa, combining to hit .263 with 19 homers and 68 RBIs, with 26 stolen bases.

Peraza, 21, hit .293 with 33 stolen bases in 118 games for the Triple-A affiliates of the Atlanta Braves and Dodgers. In his major league debut, he played in seven games for Los Angeles, with one RBI.

Schebler, 25, spent most of last season with Triple-A Oklahoma City. In 121 games, he produced 13 home runs, 50 RBIs and 15 stolen bases. He also made his major league debut with three homers and four RBIs in 19 games for Los Angeles.
