The Houston Astros called up power-hitting prospect Yordan Alvarez on Sunday ahead of their series finale against the Baltimore Orioles.

Alvarez, whose 23 homers are the most among minor leaguers this season, will be the designated hitter and bat fifth.

The 21-year-old from Cuba has hit that mark in just 213 at-bats with the Triple-A Round Rock Express.

Alvarez, who is 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, has 56 home runs in 250 career minor league games and is rated the No. 23 prospect in baseball.

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow tweeted an image of the Death Star (of Star Wars lore) destroying a planet to mark the occasion.

In a corresponding move, left-hander Reymin Guduan was optioned to Triple-A while right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. was moved to the 60-day injured list.
