The Los Angeles Dodgers activated left-handed ace Clayton Kershaw prior to Monday’s game and optioned right-hander Jaime Schultz to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The three-time Cy Young Award winner is making his season debut Monday with his start against the Cincinnati Reds.

Kershaw, 31, battled left shoulder inflammation during spring training and made two minor league rehab starts before Monday’s activation. He allowed four runs on nine hits and struck out 12 in 10 1/3 total innings.

Schultz tossed three scoreless innings in three relief appearances for Los Angeles.
