The Pittsburgh Pirates avoided arbitration with shortstop Jordy Mercer and three other players on Friday.
Pittsburgh also reached deals with catcher Francisco Cervelli and relievers Tony Watson and Jared Hughes.
Mercer agreed to a one-year deal with $2.075 million. Cervell will receive $3.5 million, Watson landed $3.45 million and Hughes will get $2.175 million.
The Pirates reportedly agreed to a one-year, $3.025 million deal with left-handed starter Jeff Locke earlier this week.
