The San Francisco Giants and catcher Nick Hundley agreed to a one-year, $2 million contract, the team announced on Tuesday.
Hundley will serve as the backup to standout Buster Posey.
The 33-year-old batted .260 with 10 homers and 48 RBIs for the Colorado Rockies last season.
Hundley reached the majors in 2008 with San Diego and spent 6 1/2 seasons with the Padres before being traded to the Baltimore Orioles during the 2014 campaign. He played the past two seasons for the Rockies.
Hundley is batting .250 with 72 homers and 305 RBIs over nine seasons.
San Francisco designed infielder Ehire Adrianza for assignment to clear room on the 40-man roster.
