Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Drew Smyly won his arbitration case on Thursday and will make $3.75 million in 2016.
The Rays submitted a figure of $3.2 million but the arbitrator sided with Smyly, who made $2.65 million last season.
Smyly went 5-2 with a 3.11 ERA in 12 starts last season. He was plagued by a left shoulder injury that prompted two stints on the disabled list.
Smyly was acquired by the Rays from the Detroit Tigers midway through the 2014 season as part of the package for ace pitcher David Price.
