The Texas Rangers have placed second baseman Rougned Odor on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 11, with a right knee sprain, the team announced Saturday.

In a corresponding move, the Rangers called up infielder/outfielder Danny Santana from Triple-A Nashville.

Right-handed pitcher Edinson Volquez also was transferred from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list to open up a 40-man roster spot for Santana.

Odor, 25, has gotten off to a slow start for Texas, batting just .167 in 12 games. In his sixth major-league season, Odor has a career .246 average.

Santana, 28, is scheduled to make his debut for Texas on Saturday night, inserted in the lineup at second base. In nine games at Nashville, he hit .343 with four doubles, a triple and six RBIs.

He has played parts of the past five seasons in the major leagues, appearing in 364 games with Minnesota and Atlanta and batting .256 with 13 home runs and 100 RBIs.
