Less than two weeks after their season ended, the Houston Rockets saw their Twitter account go dark Monday in what has turned into a month to forget.

After some confusion and far-reaching speculation, the Rockets released a statement Monday to explain why their Twitter home page read, “Account suspended,” with another line that read, “Twitter suspends accounts that violate the Twitter Rules.”

“Our Twitter account has been temporarily suspended due to a few prior social media posts with copyrighted music,” the Rockets’ statement read. “We are working to correct the issue now.”

The Houston Chronicle also reported that some college football programs had their accounts suspended. Iowa, Iowa State, Auburn and Rutgers all saw their Twitter accounts switched into suspended mode between Saturday and Monday, the newspaper said.

The Rockets were eliminated from the NBA playoffs on May 10 following a 118-113 loss to the Golden State Warriors. The Rockets won two games in the best-of-seven Western Conference semifinals
