Memphis Grizzlies guard Grayson Allen was ejected from a summer league game against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night in Las Vegas after taking two flagrant fouls seven seconds apart.

Both fouls came early in the fourth quarter against Boston Celtics rookie Grant Williams. On the first, Williams back-screened Allen, who responded by putting his hand to Williams’ face and shoving him aside. Seven seconds later, after Williams made 1 of 2 free throws, Allen swiped at Williams’ head from behind as Williams went up for a layup.

Both plays were reviewed before a flagrant 1 was given, with the second leading to Allen’s ejection. He also had a technical foul earlier in the game.

Allen, 23, joined the Grizzlies from the Utah in the package the Jazz sent for Mike Conley earlier this offseason. Thursday was his first summer league game with Memphis.

Picked 21st overall in the 2018 draft out of Duke, Allen was known for borderline play during college, repeatedly drawing punishment for tripping opponents during games, including a one-game suspension during his senior season.
