HOUSTON — Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was inactive for a second consecutive week as veteran Matt Hasselbeck started against the Houston Texans on Thursday night at NRG Stadium.

Luck (shoulder) took most of the snaps on Tuesday while Hasselbeck missed practice with an illness, but it was was not enough to prevent Luck for being sidelined again. Hasselbeck started in the Colts’ 16-13 overtime win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The Colts’ inactives also included running back Tyler Varga, linebackers Jerrell Freeman and Bjoern Werner, guard Lance Louis, tackle Denzelle Good and defensive tackle T.Y. McGill.

Wide receivers Cecil Shorts III and Nate Washington were inactive for the Texans along with running back Jonathan Grimes, strong safety Quintin Demps, linebackers Kourtnei Brown and Akeem Dent, and center Greg Mancz. Rookie receiver Jalen Strong was active for the first time this season.
