The Atlanta Falcons waived rookie safety Terell Floyd with an injury settlement. The 5-foot-10, 203-pounder signed with the team after going undrafted out of Louisville in the spring.

The versatile defensive back had been rated as the No. 77 cornerback in the 2015 class by NFLDraftScout.com.

Floyd’s career with the Falcons got off to a difficult start, as he was taken away by ambulance to a hospital after fainting during a practice on May 8. The injury that led Floyd being waived Tuesday was not disclosed, but he was considered a longshot to make the opening day roster.
