Former Washington Redskins and Chicago Bears quarterback Rex Grossman is scheduled to work out for the Atlanta Falcons.
Grossman played for Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan with the Redskins and before that with the Houston Texans.
Grossman, 34, would be added as a backup behind starter Matt Ryan with the alternatives on the depth chart failing to impress in early preseason play. T.J. Yates and Sean Renfree are competing for time behind Ryan.
Yates is 17 of 30 with two interceptions, two sacks and a 46.9 passer rating in two preseason games.
