Despite speculation that guard Marshal Yanda could retire this offseason, the Baltimore Ravens expect the seven-time Pro Bowl selection to return in 2019, ESPN reported Tuesday.

Yanda, 34, said last year he would consider retirement this offseason and has yet to indicate publicly that he will return, but the team has been optimistic he’ll be back.

“We’d love Marshal to continue to play for us for years,” general manager Eric DeCosta told reporters Tuesday.

Head coach John Harbaugh said at the NFL Scouting Combine that Yanda was “coming back and ready to roll.”

A third-round pick by the Ravens in 2007, Yanda has started 151 of 162 games in 12 seasons, going to six straight Pro Bowls from 2011 to 2016 and earning first-team All-Pro nods in 2014 and 2015.

He missed all but two games in 2017 with a broken ankle, but returned last season to start all 16 games and again reach the Pro Bowl.

“He’s a great player,” DeCosta said Tuesday. “He’s still playing at a high level. He’s a Raven. You can define a Raven and put a picture of Marshal Yanda up there and that’s him.”
