Defensive tackle Dontari Poe, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, signed a three-year free agent contract with the Carolina Panthers, the team announced on Friday.

The Charlette Observer reported the deal is worth $27 million, while NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the contract will pay Poe between $9 million and $10 million per year.

Poe started all 16 regular-season games for the Atlanta Falcons last season and recorded 39 tackles (23 solo), 10 quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks, four tackles for losses, and two passes defensed.

He also had five tackles (four solo) and one tackle for a loss in two postseason games.

Poe played his first five NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs after they drafted him with the 11th overall selection of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Memphis.

In 2013, Poe was selected to the Pro Bowl and was a second team AP All-Pro choice after making 52 total tackles (43 solo), with 4.5 sacks and four passes defensed.

Poe made the Pro Bowl again the next season after posting a career-high six sacks and 46 total tackles.

In six seasons, Poe has 239 total tackles in 94 games, with 15.5 sacks, 14 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
