The Chicago Bears signed guard Lucas Nix to a one-year contract Monday and waived/injured tackle/guard Jason Weaver.
The 6-foot-5, 325-pound Nix has appeared in 15 games with 10 starts over two seasons in Oakland (2012-13) after entering the NFL in 2012 with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh. In 2013, Nix appeared in 14 games for the Raiders with nine starts at left guard and one start at right guard.
Nix spent the 2014 preseason with Oakland before being released prior to the start of the regular season.
