Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green could be sidelined until at least December with a toe injury, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday.

Green avoided surgery on the toe injury he sustained in a 37-34 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 28. Quarterback Andy Dalton twice connected with Green on the game-winning drive, including an 11-yard pass play that put Cincinnati in position for the winning kick.

A December return would have Green missing at least three games.

Green was spotted wearing a walking boot on Friday, although the 30-year-old also took it off and walked around without it.

A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, Green leads the team in receiving yards (687) and touchdowns (six). Fellow wideout Tyler Boyd has a club-best 49 receptions to go along with 620 yards and five scores.

Green has eclipsed 100 yards receiving in a franchise-best 32 games in his career. He has 601 receptions for 8,900 yards and 63 touchdowns in 110 contests since the Bengals selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

While Green is sidelined, Boyd and fellow wideout John Ross are expected to play larger roles for the Bengals (5-3), who host the New Orleans Saints (7-1) on Sunday.
