NEW ORLEANS — Denver safety Justin Simmons leaped over the center to block a potential game-winning extra-point attempt and safety Will Parks returned it 84 yards for a two-point defensive conversion to lift the Broncos to a wild 25-23 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

The Saints (4-5) appeared poised to win after Drew Brees threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks with 1:22 left, tying the score at 23, pending the extra point try.

But on the extra-point attempt by Wil Lutz, Simmons hurdled the center and easily blocked the kick. The ball bounced into Parks’ hands at the Denver 16, and he ran down the left sideline for the two-point defensive score, putting Denver up 25-23.

Lutz came close to stepping out of bounds on the play, but after a replay review, the official determined that he did not, resulting in an 84-yard two-point return for the Broncos (7-3).

Titans 47, Packers 25

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee led 21-0 before the first quarter was over and held off Green Bay for the game’s remainder to pick up a surprising win.

In upping their record to 5-5, the Titans got a huge game from quarterback Marcus Mariota, who completed 19 of 26 passes for 295 yards and four touchdowns. DeMarco Murray rushed 17 times for 123 yards, taking his first carry of the day 75 yards off left tackle to give Tennessee a 7-0 lead just 103 seconds into the game.

The Packers (4-5) were able to rack up some good numbers as Aaron Rodgers completed 31 of 52 passes for 371 yards and two touchdowns, while receivers Davante Adams (6 catches, 156 yards) and Jordy Nelson (12 receptions, 126 yards, one touchdown) feasted on the Tennessee secondary. The Packers’ defense sacked Rodgers five times and intercepted two passes.

Chiefs 20, Panthers 17

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Cairo Santos kicked a 37-yard field goal on the last play of the game as Kansas City completed a comeback from 17 points down to defeat Carolina.

It was an unlikely conclusion as the Chiefs converted off two late turnovers to win their fifth game in a row. Santos kicked four field goals and Kansas City (7-2) won despite going without a touchdown from its offense.

The Panthers (3-6) were denied stretching their winning streak to three games. Cam Newton was 23 of 38 for 261 yards with a touchdown and interception.

Eagles 24, Falcons 15

PHILADELPHIA — Ryan Mathews ran for 109 yards and two touchdowns as Philadelphia rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Atlanta.

The Eagles (5-4) trailed 15-13 when Mathews scored on a 5-yard run for the winning points and then their defense kept the high-flying Falcons’ offense in check, forcing a punt and then taking over on downs on Atlanta’s next two possessions. The Eagles wrapped it up when Caleb Sturgis drilled a 48-yard field goal with 1:57 left to make it a two-score game.

Eagles rookie quarterback Carson Wentz completed 25 of 36 passes for 231 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions. Matt Ryan completed 18 of 33 for 267 yards, with a touchdown and an interception for the Falcons (6-4).

Redskins 26, Vikings 20

LANDOVER, Md. — Dustin Hopkins kicked four second-half field goals and the Washington defense pitched a shutout in the final 30 minutes to defeat Minnesota.

The Vikings, behind six Sam Bradford to Stefon Diggs completions, drove to the Redskins 21-yard line in the final minute before losing the ball on downs after Bradford was sacked on fourth-and-17.

Kirk Cousins passed for 262 yards and two touchdowns without an interception for the Redskins (5-3-1) and Robert Kelley rushed for 97 yards.

Diggs caught 13 passes for 164 yards for the Vikings (5-4), who have lost four straight. Bradford completed 31 of 39 passes for 307 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

Texans 24, Jaguars 21

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Houston scored one touchdown on defense and set up another with a big play on special teams to give its offense an easy day against Jacksonville.

The Texans came into the game winless in three tries on the road but got the quick start they talked about all week when cornerback Kareem Jackson intercepted Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles on the first drive of the game and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown.

That was the start of an opportunistic day for the Texans (6-3) and another frustrating outing for the Jaguars (2-7), who have lost four straight and now hit the road for two games.

Rams 9, Jets 6

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Greg Zuerlein kicked three field goals, including the game-winning 34-yarder with 6:52 remaining in the fourth quarter, as Los Angeles edged New York.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Rams (4-5), who rode three Zuerlein field goals to a win for the second time this season. It was the second straight loss for the Jets (3-7), who are all but eliminated from playoff contention.

Rams wide receiver Kenny Britt had seven catches for 109 yards while running back Todd Gurley, who was listed as questionable with a thigh injury, finished with 64 yards on 21 carries. Quarterback Case Keenum was 17-of-30 passing for 165 yards.

Jets quarterback Bryce Petty, who surprisingly made his first NFL career start in place of the injured Ryan Fitzpatrick, went 19 of 32 for 163 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Buccaneers 36, Bears 10

TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay defense forced four turnovers in the first half, including a pick-six from safety Chris Conte, and beat Chicago for its first home win of the season.

Jameis Winston passed for 312 yards and two touchdowns for the Buccaneers (4-5) and Jay Cutler had two interceptions and a fumble in the first half as the Bears (2-7) dropped to 0-5 on the road/

Winston connected with tight end Cameron Brate for six catches and 70 yards in the first half alone, including his fifth touchdown.
