The Washington Redskins have signed former first-round pick Ziggy Hood, according to The Washington Post.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Hood in the first round pick in 2009. The former Missouri standout spent five seasons with the Steelers before joining Jacksonville for the 2014 season.

Hood, 28, began last season on injured reserve after suffering a foot injury. Jacksonville parted ways with Hood, who went on and played in two games with the Chicago Bears.

Hood, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound defensive end, has started 46 of 98 games he has played in and compiled 164 tackles, 12.5 sacks and seven pass breakups.

Terms of the signing were not released.
