–Packers rookie wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling ranks second in the NFL with his 21.1 yards per catch. A fifth-round pick who barely played to start the season, he’s never been short of confidence. “Just where I’m from, where I was raised. The south side of St. Petersburg, Fla., isn’t the easiest. A lot of great players down there. That’s just how I was raised.”

–Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is completing 60.6 percent of his passes, the lowest rate of his career. “I’ve had an unnatural amount of throwaways this year,” he said. “I would say the majority of those are coverage throwaways. I think that’s been a big contributor to the completion percentage.”

–With the trade of safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and the release of safety Jermaine Whitehead, second-year safety Josh Jones is in line for more playing time. After playing four snaps in the first seven games, he played 51 at New England.

“Sometimes we get caught up in wanting what’s now, but we don’t see the future,” Jones said. “We don’t see the good in waiting. Patience is a virtue. And that’s what I was able to learn earlier in the year. Bide my time until when my name is called, and then make the plays and you’ll continue to be out there.”

–Tramon Williams moved from cornerback to safety to replace Clinton-Dix. “I like the way Tramon played” against New England, head coach Mike McCarthy said. “I thought Tramon, his range, played a good football game, the first time back there. Hopefully it’s something we can build off of.”

–Green Bay enters this week’s games ranked 14th in scoring with 24.0 points per game. “We’ve lost games before here but this just feels different. And it doesn’t feel good,” wide receiver Randall Cobb said. “It’s not fun. But we’ve got to figure something out.”

BY THE NUMBERS: 6.03 – Yards per carry for RB Aaron Jones. That’s No. 1 in the NFL ahead of the Chargers’ Austin Ekeler (5.82) and the Colts’ Marlon Mack (5.77).
