Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams isn’t expected to practice until the weekend as the team prepares for its NFC Championship Game against the host Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Adams sat out practice on Wednesday, three days removed from sustaining an ankle injury late in the Packers’ divisional-round playoff victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

“Curious to see him move,” coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday. “I don’t think he’ll practice until Saturday.”

Adams recorded career highs in receptions (75), yards (997) and touchdowns (12) this season.

The 24-year-old Adams joins fellow ailing wideout Jordy Nelson on the sideline. Nelson (NFL-leading 14 receiving touchdowns) is nursing broken ribs sustained during wild-card weekend against the New York Giants.

“We’ve won without them before. We’d like to have them out there, but we’ll see what happens,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers said Wednesday.

Should Adams and/or Nelson remain sidelined, Green Bay will lean on wideouts Randall Cobb, Geronimo Allison and Jeff Janis in addition to tight end Jared Cook.
