–Outside linebacker Kiko Alonso has 89 tackles, which ranks him tied for third in the NFL this season. He is closing in on what would be his fourth 100-plus-tackle season in his past five years.

–Dolphins head coach Adam Gase on Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton: “He’s really fast and can stretch the field. When you have a guy like that, it makes DBs nervous. They back off a bit to make sure they don’t get beat over the top. Then, all of a sudden, (Hilton) is catching clean, 20-yard routes and running after the catch.”

–Defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick, a first-round pick from Alabama, is one of just six NFL rookies to produce at least 50 tackles and one interception so far this season. He has played safety, boundary corner and slot, and his five passes defensed rank eighth in the NFL among rookies.

–Linebacker Jerome Baker, a third-round pick out of Ohio State, is one of just three NFL rookies with at least 50 tackles, one interception and one sack this season. He is also one of just four rookies with a pick-six this season.

–Free safety Reshad Jones said Miami will have to jam Colts receivers to have a chance against quarterback Andrew Luck. “We’ve got to slow down their timing,” Jones said. “Their offensive line hasn’t given up a sack in five weeks. We have to get our hands on their receivers so (Luck) can’t get the ball out as fast.”

–Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills: “We’re excited to have (quarterback) Ryan (Tannehill) back. He looks great. There are always details to work out, but (Tannehill) is really competitive. It’s something we admire and respect about him.”

BY THE NUMBERS: 20 — The Dolphins have gone 20 games in a row without scoring an offensive touchdown on their opening drive. In addition, they have gone 13 consecutive games without scoring a single point on its opening offensive possession, the longest active streak in the NFL.
