–With a win, Miami would close its home schedule at 7-1. It would be the first time Miami has won seven home games since 2002.

–Dolphins cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick has defensed nine passes, which ranks fifth among NFL rookies.

–New Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton on being drafted so low (seventh round): “I’m driven to carve a name for myself and make everyone who passed on me … show them what I can do.”

–Running back Kalen Ballage last week became the first Dolphins rookie to rush for at least 100 yards in a game since Daniel Thomas in 2011. Ballage’s 75-yard run was the second-longest by a Dolphins rookie, falling just short of the 77-yarder by Leroy Harris in 1977. Ballage’s 123 yards last week became the best performance by a Dolphins running back since Ronnie Brown ran for 132 in 2005.

–Dolphins head coach Adam Gase on Frank Gore’s season ending due to a football injury: “It’s disappointing. He’s a special player. I wish he could’ve finished this out.”

BY THE NUMBERS: 122 — That is how many games Dolphins running back Frank Gore has started consecutively. It’s the longest active streak by any NFL running back, wide receiver or tight end, but it will end on Sunday due to a foot injury. The last time an NFL running back had a streak that long it was Eddie George, who started 130 consecutive games from 1996 to 2004.
