New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady missed practice Tuesday due to a reported left shoulder injury, although the team did not provide a reason for the reigning Super Bowl MVP’s absence.
Brady has undergone tests for the injury but is expected play in the team’s Week 6 game against the Jets in New York on Sunday, sources told ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
The 40-year-old quarterback has been hit 32 times and sacked 16 times this season, including six times in the last two weeks.
In last Thursday’s 19-14 win on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady completed 30 of 40 passes for 303 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
Brady’s 1,702 passing yards ranks first in the NFL and his 11 touchdowns are tied for second behind Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers (13) and Houston’s Deshaun Watson (12).
