New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Monday he expects guard Geoff Schwartz will be lost for the rest of the season with a leg fracture.
Schwartz left Sunday’s 20-14 loss to the Washington Redskins in the first quarter.
“No, but it’s not good,” Coughlin said Monday of the injury to Schwartz. “He has a fracture above the plate on his leg. I’m sure he’ll have to be put on IR.”
Schwartz held out hope on Twitter that he would be able to return to the team this season.
“Fracture is an ugly word. Might not be season ending. I hope not. We will see,” Schwartz tweeted.
