New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was held out of practice Thursday and received further evaluation on his injured quadriceps.

“It was good. We just went in, got it scanned just to see everything and it’s doing much better than it was,” Beckham said. “Just taking it a day at a time, that’s really it.”

The Giants have not ruled Beckham out of Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans and he practiced on a limited basis Wednesday. During Wednesday’s practice he participated in the individual portion after sitting out Sunday’s 40-16 win at Washington.

Beckham underwent further examination at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan and he said the tests were done to double-check the injury and ensure progress was being made.

“I honestly don’t know until Sunday gets here,” he said. “It has just been getting better each and every day.”

When asked if the quadricep was bruised, Beckham said:

“I don’t know. It’s like saying I broke my leg but you really fractured it. It’s a choice of words. Whatever you want to call it, (expletive) ain’t right.”

Beckham was injured on the final play of the Nov. 25 loss at Philadelphia. He had three catches in New York’s 30-27 overtime win over the Chicago Bears on Dec. 2 and did not appear on the injury report for the Washington game until practiced ended last Friday.

Beckham has 77 catches for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns this season. He thinks he will return once he is cleared.

“Whenever it’s better, I’ll definitely be out there,” Beckham said. “I don’t even like missing practice. So whenever I can run, I’ll be running.”
