New York Giants player notes for Dec 6th, 2018

Brock Miller – Noteworthy – Transaction
P Brock Miller (5-11, 190) was signed by the Giants to the practice squad Thursday (Dec. 6). Miller, who kicks with his left foot, has had numerous tryouts this season for teams that are facing a left-footed punter in their upcoming game. The Giants play Washington Sunday, and the Redskins punter is lefty Tress Way.

Jonathan Stewart – Important – Injury – Transaction
RB Jonathan Stewart had his practice period expire with the Giants Thursday (Dec. 6) and will remain on reserve/injured for the remainder of the season.

Kenny Ladler – Noteworthy – Transaction
S Kenny Ladler was signed by the Giants from their practice squad Thursday (Dec. 6). He has been on their practice squad since Nov. 14. Earlier this season, Ladler played five games for the Washington Redskins. He was credited with six special teams tackles (one solo) before Washington waived him on Nov. 6.

Ladler, 6-1 and 200 pounds, entered the NFL as a rookie free agent in 2014 with the Buffalo Bills. He played collegiately at Vanderbilt. Ladler played in two games on special teams for the Bills that season before going on injured reserve with a broken forearm. In 2015, Ladler was waived in the cutdown to 53 players and was out of football. The following two seasons, he played for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. Last year, Ladler was an All-CFL first-team selection at linebacker after recording 86 tackles, three interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Landon Collins – Important – Injury – Transaction
S Landon Collins (shoulder) was placed on reserve/injured by the Giants Thursday (Dec. 6). Collins will undergo surgery to repair the partially-torn rotator cuff he suffered in last Sunday’s overtime victory against Chicago. Collins leads the Giants this with 96 tackles (67 solo), just as he was the team leader in each of his first three years with 108, 125 and 99 tackles. He was a selected a first-team All-Pro in 2016 and to the Pro Bowl in 2016 and 2017. Collins has missed just 16 defensive snaps all season.

Landon Collins – Noteworthy – Injury – Transaction
S Landon Collins, who is a free agent after the season, will miss the rest of the season after the New York Giants placed him on injured reserve on Thursday. Collins will undergo surgery to repair a partially torn rotator cuff and it will require an estimated four to six months of recovery time.
