PLAYER NOTES

–CB Trumaine Johnson is still recovering from an injured quadriceps that has sidelined him for the last four games. Johnson was in helmet and pads doing individual and position drills but did not practice Wednesday. Last week, Johnson participated in similar activities before being ruled out of the Chicago game.

–WR Robby Anderson did not practice Wednesday due to the ankle injury that kept him sidelined last week. Last week, he missed the entire week of practice.

–WR Quincy Enunwa gave the Jets some potentially good news by going on the field with his helmet Wednesday. However, he did not participate in practice and head coach Todd Bowles said until Enunwa actually practices it’s status quo for him. Enunwa has missed the last two games and it’s possible he might not return until Week 12 against New England.

–S Marcus Maye was among the four Jets who were limited in practice on Wednesday. Maye is dealing with a broken thumb and also was limited in practice last week before recording seven tackles in Chicago.

–DT Steve McClendon did not practice Wednesday due to a broken ankle suffered during Sunday’s loss to Chicago. McClendon has not missed a game since 2016 but is unlikely to play Sunday.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: TE Chris Herndon has been one of the most added tight ends in fantasy leagues the last few weeks. He has a touchdown reception three straight weeks. The 22-year-old, who was born with 12 fingers (six on each hand), has seven catches for 114 yards and the three scores the last three games after having five receptions for 47 yards through five weeks.

GAME PLAN: The Jets would like to establish the run after three subpar weeks on the ground. Whether they actually can is another story but the numbers seem to indicate they will since Miami is among the league’s worst rushing defenses.
MATCHUPS TO WATCH

–Jets S Jamal Adams vs. Dolphins WR. Adams leads the Jets with 565 defensive snaps and leads the Jets with 56 tackles. In the last meeting, the Jets held Miami QB Ryan Tannehill to 122 yards while Adams had a sack and four tackles. According to Pro Football Focus, Adams is allowing a 56 percent completion rate along with nine quarterback pressures. This time, Adams and the Jets defense will be going against Brock Osweiler, who is starting a fourth straight game due to Ryan Tannehill’s shoulder injury.

–Jets OL vs. Dolphins DE Cameron Wake. Wake is off to a slow start with nine tackles and one sack but is going up against a weakened offensive line, especially if C Spencer Long sits out. Wake’s primary matchup will come against LT Kelvin Beachum who has allowed two sacks and was graded at 82.5 by Pro Football Focus.
