FRIDAY INJURY REPORT
HOUSTON TEXANS

–OUT: WR Keke Coutee (hamstring)

–QUESTIONABLE: G Zach Fulton (hand), S Andre Hal (ankle)
NEW YORK JETS

–OUT: LB Jeremiah Attaochu (concussion), RB Isaiah Crowell (toe), WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle)

–QUESTIONABLE: RB Trenton Cannon (toe), LB Jordan Jenkins (shoulder, ankle), CB Trumaine Johnson (foot), LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (shoulder)

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: QB Sam Darnold. A rookie quarterback, especially one who was a high draft pick will always be in the spotlight. Coming off his first fourth-quarter game-winning drive, fans and observers will be curious to see what the follow-up is against the Texans. The weather forecast is calling for cold rain by kickoff and Darnold may be playing in rain for the first time as a pro.

GAME PLAN: Since offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates was criticized for not emphasizing calling run plays in the New England game, the Jets have rushed 61 times and 234 yards in the last two games. This week’s game plan could depend on the availability of the three running backs, who all landed on the injury report to some degree on Wednesday.
MATCHUPS TO WATCH:

–Jets OL vs. Texans DE J.J. Watt and LB Jadeveon Clowney. The Jets didn’t allow a sack for the first time all season last week at Buffalo but are facing a tough challenge. Watt and Clowney have combined for 19.5 sacks, third-best among duos behind Denver’s Von Miller and Bradley Chubb and Kansas City’s Chris Jones and Dee Ford. Among those on the offensive line tasked with containing Watt and Clowney will be Brandon Shell and Kelvin Beachum.

–Jets S Jamal Adams vs. TE Jordan Thomas. Adams is earning extensive praise from the Texans and is among in the top three among safeties with seven quarterback hits, eight tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, 12 passes defended, one fumble recovery and 2.5 sacks. He also is fifth among safeties with 89 tackles. Among those he will responsible for coverage is Thomas, who is emerging as a threat in Houston’s passing game of late.
