The Oakland Raiders are parting ways with offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave despite having the sixth-ranked offense in the NFL this season.

NFL.com reported that Musgrave has completed a two-year contract with the club and Oakland isn’t planning to renew it.

Quarterbacks coach Todd Downing reportedly will replace Musgrave as offensive coordinator.

The Raiders are expected to retain defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. despite the unit finishing 26th in total defense.

–Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles wrote on his personal website that he is uncertain about his future after undergoing surgery on both knees in November.

“I honestly don’t know what the future holds for me,” the 30-year-old Charles said Tuesday. “What I do know is that I still want to play football. I was only 29 years old this season. My goal right now is to just focus on the now and my rehab and let the rest sort itself out later.”

Charles is owed $7 million in salary and bonuses next season and will “almost certainly” be asked to take a pay cut, NFL.com reports. The four-time Pro Bowler played in only three games in 2016.

–Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin pointed the finger at himself for the play call that resulted in quarterback Ben Roethlisberger injuring his right foot late in Sunday’s victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Pittsburgh led 30-12 with 4:34 remaining in the AFC wild-card game when Roethlisberger was attempting to pass and had Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake fall on his foot.

“I got a little over-aggressive there,” Tomlin told reporters. “It goes beyond taking the responsibility. I made the call. So don’t ask (offensive coordinator) Todd (Haley) about it on Thursday. I made the call and I take responsibility for it.”

Roethlisberger departed the stadium in a walking boot but is recovering swiftly and will be ready when the Steelers visit the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday.

–The Chicago Bears signed veteran wide receiver Rueben Randle to a reserve/futures contract Tuesday.

Randle struggled in his brief stint with the Philadelphia Eagles this past summer and was a casualty of the last round of cuts in the preseason. The 25-year-old spent his previous four seasons with the New York Giants, reeling in 57 receptions for 797 yards and a career-best eight touchdowns in 2015.
