Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz continues to be a limited participant in practice, and Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia reported Tuesday that everything points to Wentz not playing at all in the preseason.

Wentz participated in full team drills on July 26 and July 28, but has not participated in them since. Wentz told NBC Sports Philadelphia he does not expect to participate in full team drills next week either.

It has been eight months since he suffered a torn anterior-cruciate ligament. Wentz has not missed a practice, but does little besides individual drills and 7-on-7 drills.

“It’s frustrating,” he said after practice Tuesday, according to the report. “Obviously, getting a chance to get out there and everything, I felt great, it was fun to be out there, but again just trusting what the doctors are saying.

“I think for next week it’s going to be the same type of routine and then kind of keep talking to the doctors and coaches and make a plan as we go.”

Wentz said he would be ready for the regular season even if he does not play in any of the preseason games.

“I don’t think it’s a big hurdle for me,” he said, according to NBC Sports Philadelphia. “Would I love to be out there on Thursday (in a preseason game against Pittsburgh)? Absolutely. I’d love to be out there every day. But I think for me personally, I think I’ll be fine if I don’t get out there for preseason.”
