The Seattle Seahawks placed All-Pro free safety Earl Thomas on injured reserve on Tuesday, officially ending his season.

Thomas suffered a fractured tibia during Sunday’s victory over the Carolina Panthers.

Seattle also signed safety Jeron Johnson and fullback Marcel Reece and waived running back George Farmer.

The signing of Johnson is key since the six-year veteran already knows the defense. He played in 46 games for the Seahawks from 2011-14. He left Seattle to join the Washington Redskins last season and was in training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs this year before being released.

Reece was a four-time Pro Bowl selection with the Raiders and has scored 15 NFL touchdowns (12 receiving, three rushing). He began this season by serving the final three contests of a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse agreement and Oakland released him when he was eligible to return.

Farmer saw action in two games with Seattle, carrying the ball once and also making one reception.
