The Seattle Seahawks released quarterback Jake Waters on Wednesday and signed wide receiver Deontay Greenberry.

Waters, who signed with Seattle on Aug. 18, was a two-year starter at Kansas State. As a senior, he set a school record for passing yards (3,501), total offense (3,985 yards) and total touchdowns (31). Waters initially signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars after the 2015 draft.

Greenberry originally signed with the Dallas Cowboys on May 8 but was released on Aug. 21. He was the University of Houston’s leading receiver last season with 72 receptions for 841 yards and six touchdowns. Greenberry became the sixth receiver in school history to record two seasons with at least 70 receptions (82 receptions for 1,202 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2013).
