–The Redskins are still without key players on offense, including left tackle Trent Williams and running back Chris Thompson. Williams practiced last Friday before the Houston game before deciding at the last minute to give his surgically repaired thumb more time to heal. The six-time Pro Bowler’s return would be a massive boost on an injury riddled offensive line missing both guards for the rest of the year, including Pro Bowl right guard Brandon Scherff. Williams was listed as limited at Tuesday’s walkthrough.

Meanwhile, running back Chris Thompson (ribs) again didn’t practice, but head coach Jay Gruden held out hope he could go Thursday against Dallas. Thompson has missed five of the past six games.

“Before his (broken leg) last year, I think he was one of the top running backs in the league as far as total yardage out of the backfield, running the ball and catching the ball,” Gruden said. “He had a lot of yards when he was playing here before he got his injury. He’s a great weapon, not only a weapon, but he’s great in protection. We blew a couple of protections last week.”

BY THE NUMBERS: 1 – Rushing yard needed for Adrian Peterson to reach 13,000 for his career. Only eight NFL running backs have accomplished that feat.
