San Diego Chargers inside linebacker Manti Te’o is expected to miss multiple games with a foot fracture, although he will avoid going on injured reserve, according to U-T San Diego.
The injury is to the same right foot that caused him to miss the first three games of his rookie season and undergo offseason surgery. He also suffered a sprained left foot during training camp this year but returned in time for the start of the regular season.
The second-year linebacker’s latest foot injury was suffered during Sunday’s victory at the Buffalo Bills. Te’o, 23, led the Chargers with 10 tackles against the Bills and has a team-high 19 tackles through three games.
Kavell Conner is expected to start in Te’o’s place against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
