Wisconsin senior linebacker Vince Biegel is expected to be sidelined for several weeks due to a broken foot.

The news of the injury comes two days before the eighth-ranked Badgers are set to visit fourth-ranked Michigan in a Big Ten Conference showdown.

Biegel’s father told ESPN that his son underwent surgery Thursday and will be sidelined for two to four weeks. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, citing a source close to the program, confirmed the injury.

Biegel, a senior, is the most experienced linebacker for Wisconsin (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten). A third-team Big Ten selection last season, he has registered nine tackles, including a pair for losses.

Earlier Thursday, the Badgers learned that kicker Rafael Gaglianone will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing back surgery.
