The New York Giants picked up the fifth-year option on defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence on Thursday, but they reportedly will not do the same for quarterback Daniel Jones.

The Giants selected Jones with the No. 6 overall pick and landed Lawrence at No. 17 in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Multiple outlets reported the news on Jones, who could still cash in with the franchise tag if he plays well this season.

Lawrence, 24, is now guaranteed a $10.753 million salary in 2023.

Jones, 24, would be due $22.384 million in 2023 if the Giants exercise their option.

Lawrence had 54 tackles, 11 quarterback hits and 2.5 sacks in 16 games (10 starts) last season. He has 145 tackles, nine sacks and five passes defensed in 48 career games (41 starts).

Jones completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,428 yards and 10 touchdowns in 11 starts last season. Through 38 games (37 starts), he owns a 12-25 record with 8,398 passing yards, 45 TDs and 29 picks.
